Starting from Andover Premier Inn the route heads north through Charlton. It climbs up through Hatherden and Upton, before descending and joining the "valley" road, continuing north nearly as far as Great Bedwyn. The southern return goes up and over Fairmile, then through Ludgershall, along Somme Road to proceed to Kimpton and Weyhill.
